Have you ever thought about international adoption? Are you terrified of having to decide what types of medical or emotional condition you would accept? In this course the instructor is Dr. Dana Johnson, MD, PhD, a Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Johnson founded the International Adoption Clinic at the University of Minnesota. His research interests include the effects of early institutionalization on growth and development and the outcomes of internationally adopted children.
This course covers the following learning objectives:
- Identify the most significant impact of cocaine and meth on infants.
- Identify the most common disorder seen among adoptees.
- Identify the most common condition see in children adopted internationally.
- Understand the impact of institutionalization on children in international adoption.
