In this course we will cover the factors that lead to an adoption falling apart and what families and agencies can do to help families. The instructors will be Dr. Eshele Williams, Director of the Creating Stability During Change Model of Practice for Resource Family Disruption Prevention and Retention. She was also a birth child in foster adoptive kinship family. Dr. Eileen Pasztor is a Prof. Emerita, California State University at Long Beach School of Social Work, and foster and adoptive parent.

This course covers the following learning objectives:

  • Understand and explain what adoption disruption means.
  • List the stages that may lead to adoption disruption.
  • List 3 reasons families may struggle post-adoption that can lead to dissolution.
