In this course, we will cover the common issues families may face when they adopt or foster out of birth order and how they can prepare to ease the transition for all the children. We also discuss virtual twinning, therapy for adoptive and foster families, and self-care for parents. The instructor of this course is Elizabeth Bohlken, Director of Education and Support at Children's Home Society and Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota.

  • Explain virtual or artificial twinning and list 3 issues that children and families may face.
  • List 5 tips to help ease the transition for all of the children in the home when adopting or fostering out of birth order.
