With schools all over the country shut down, many for the rest of the school year, parents have suddenly found themselves in the dual role of teacher and parent. For many, this has been a stressful transition. They don’t want their children to fall behind in school, but they’re trying to balance homeschooling. In this COVID-19 Support Group Resource, we look at the challenges parents face while doing distance learning and how they can balance expectations between what the schools are asking for and what’s realistic. We also provide some concrete tips to help make homeschooling easier.

  • Why are routines so important and how do you create one?
  • How much time should you be spending on academics?
  • Why is distance learning creating a power struggle with your child?
  • What should you be focusing on in homeschooling?
