In this course, we will talk about what parents and schools can do to help autistic children reach their potential. The instructor will be Dr. Lynn Koegel, a clinical professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and author of Hidden Brilliance: Unlocking the Intelligence of Autism. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders.
This course covers the following learning objectives:
- Discuss the symptoms of autism as they vary by the age of the child.
- List the two main characteristics of a child with autism that are used in diagnosing.
- List two techniques parents can use to help their child improve verbal communication.
